One of our family traditions, starting from when our oldest (who is now 7 going on 8yrs old) was a baby, is to go spend an evening at Bethlehem Revisited. A local church puts this on and it is A-MAZING!
They build a whole city on their land outside, with walls, merchants, bonfires, deer chili cooking in big pots over the fire, Roman soldiers......the whole nine yards! But the best part is the live story of the birth of Jesus that they tell you as they guide through all of the events played out before your eyes. Then, the very end, there is a live manger scene.
It really is one of my favorite things to do this time of year and my children feel the same way too.
Galatians 4:4-5 But when the set time had
fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to
redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship.
Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself will
give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and
will call him Immanuel.
John 10:14-15 “I am the good shepherd; I know
my sheep and my sheep know me— just as the Father knows me and I know
the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep.
Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas time, full of joy, peace, hope; that only our Savior can give.
